Jordan condemns mosque attack in Saudi Arabia

Xinhua, May 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Jordan on Saturday condemned a bombing of a mosque in Saudi Arabia, reiterating support for the kingdom, official Petra news agency reported.

Jordan fully supports Saudi Arabia in facing violence and terrorism, its Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani was quoted as saying.

Terrorist groups seek to harm the country's stability and security, he added.

On Friday, the Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the blast that killed at least 21 people.

The explosion that targeted "Imam Ali" Mosque in Qudaih area of the Saudi city of Qatif also left 66 Shiite worshipers injured.

Last November, three masked gunmen killed five Shiites and injured nine others in the eastern town of Aldaloh in Ahsa Governorate. Endit
