Last-gasp Santa Fe take edge over Internacional

Xinhua, May 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Dairon Mosquera scored in second-half stoppage time to hand Independiente Santa Fe a dramatic 1-0 victory over Brazil's Internacional in their Copa Libertadores quarterfinal first leg on Wednesday.

The match appeared set for a draw before Mosquera met Omar Perez's corner kick with a bullet header in the 92nd minute.

The result at Bogota's El Campin means the Colombian outfit needs only to draw next Wednesday's return leg in Porto Alegre to progress to the semifinals of South America's top club competition.

"It's minimal but we are going to Brazil with an advantage and that's the most important thing," Mosquera told reporters after the match.

In Thursday's quarterfinal first leg fixtures, Paraguay's Club Guarani host Argentina's Racing Club and River Plate of Argentina are at home to Brazil's Cruzeiro. Endi
