Brazilian Filipe Toledo defeated Australian Bede Durbidge in the final to clinch the Rio Pro at Barra da Tijuca beach on Sunday.

Toledo posted a two-wave total of 19.87, including a perfect 10, while Durbridge could manage only 14.70.

"It's been my dream to win this event," said Toledo, who is now second on the tour rankings after compatriot Adriano de Souza.

"I'm feeling really confident right now. It's going to be a really amazing year for me and the Brazilians. I'm hoping to finish in the top five and fight for the title at the end of the year."

American Courtney Conlogue won the women's event by overcoming South Africa's Bianca Buitendag in the final.

Conlogue finished with 14.50 while Buitendag registered 11.10.

Hawaiian Carissa Moore remains the championship leader ahead of Conlogue while Buitendag rose to ninth. Endi
