Two policemen killed in central Sri Lanka

Two police officers were killed when a van collided head on with a truck at Ududumbara in Central Sri Lanka on Sunday, police said.

Three other police officers traveling in the van were also injured and rushed to the Kandy state hospital, a police officer told Xinhua.

The police officers were attached to the local Galaha Police Station and were returning after attending a funeral when they met with the fatal accident, the officer added.

The driver of the truck was arrested and an investigation has been launched into the accident. Endi
