Shanghai SIPG remains top of Super League with 1-1 tie at Evergrande

Xinhua, May 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Thanks to Tobias Hysen's equalizer, Shanghai SIPG remained at the top of 2015 Chinese Super League with a 1-1 draw on road with defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande in the 10th round on Friday.

Both sides fought hard for the top of the table. Evergrande broke the deadlock in the first-half stoppage as Gao Lin received a pass from Li Xuepeng and scored with a header.

In the 74th minute, Evergrande's Ricardo Goulart hit the crossbar and missed the best chance to extend the lead. In the 83rd, goalkeeper Zeng Cheng failed to hold a shot from Dario Conca and Shanghai's Tobias Hysen sent the ball into the empty net.

Shanghai SIPG has extended its unbeaten record to 10 games this season. Endi
