Three bodies had been recovered near the wreckage of the missing U.S. military chopper, an official from the Nepal government confirmed Friday.

There were eight people on board the military chopper including two Nepalese soldiers and six U.S. marines in the UN- 1Y helicopter.

A search and rescue team from the Nepal Army has been mobilized in the area for gaining more information on the status of the missing military chopper.

Panthi said "We are trying to find out more".

The missing helicopter was spotted Friday morning in Ghorthali of Sindhupalchowk district at an elevation of around 11, 200 feet.

The chopper, which was on a rescue mission in the worst quake- hit areas of Dolakha, lost contact on Tuesday.
