Uruguay announces roster for U20 World Cup

Manager of the Uruguayan U20 national team, Fabian Coito, announced the roster with 21 players that will play its category's World Cup in New Zealand, where a local league figure and 5 "A-listers" stand out.
The final list from Uruguay, the Turkey 2013 runner up, was made public Thursday midnight, with attacking midfildier Gaston Pereiro, a crucial piece for big tesm Nacional of Montevido, as its highlight.
Among the "A-listers" are defender Guillermo Cotugno (Rubin Kazan, Russia), midfieldiers Ramiro Guerra (Villarreal, Spain), Kevin Mendez (Perugia, Italy) and Diego Poyet (West Ham, England), and forward Franco Acosta (Villarreal).
Poyet, son of Uruguayan former soccer star, Gus Poyet, was not released by his club to play the Southamerican tournament held at Uruguay in January and February in which the national team placed third and qualified for the World Cup.
The list was made public by Coito after friendly match in Montevideo in which his team thrashed Honduras national team 5-0 on Uruguay's last match before their local audience.
The sky-blue team will travel next Sunday to New Zealand.
Gruop D calendar assigns Uruguay's debut for May 31 against Serbia, in Dunedin, where they will also play against Mexico on June 3. Afterwards, they will close against Mali on June 6 in Hamilton.
