Wild wins second stage of Tour of Chongming 2015

After claiming the opening stage of the Tour of Chongming Island 2015, Dutch cyclist Kirsten Wild led the general classification by winning the second stage here on Thursday.

Kirsten of Hitec Products cruised to the finish line with a stylish sprint in three hours, two minutes and 28 seconds, edging out French Roxane Fournier of Poitou-Charentes Futuroscope 86 to the second place, followed by Italian Giorgia Bronzini of Wiggle Honda.

"There are so many turns during the course that the competition is more fierce today, and I'm looking forward to the final stage tomorrow," said Wild who also highlighted the strategy and cooperation of her teammates.

Na Ahreum of South Korea's national team became the top ranked Asian rider in the 11th place. Bai Yue of China Chongming-Liv-Champion System Pro Cycling placed 31st, the best result among Chinese riders in the 113.7-kilometer course.

The Tour of Chongming Island 2015, the highest level of its kind in Asia, consists of three stages with a total of 304 kilometers, and will end on May 15. The event is open to athletes of the women's elite category. Endi
