Xinhua, May 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

An explosion targeted a police vehicle in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday, causing no casualties, police said.

"A sticky bomb attached to a criminal investigation police vehicle was detonated at around 08:00 a.m. (local time) in Sanatorium locality near Attorney General Office building in western Kabul," a police official told Xinhua at the site.

The blast took place at the backside of the vehicle and caused no casualties on police personnel aboard the vehicle, the official said, adding that an investigation was launched into the incident.

The vehicle caught fire sending a black smoke to rise above the area.

Wednesday's attack was the third incident at the same area this month. About four civilians, including two Afghan attorney general 's workers, had been killed and over 30 others wounded after two separate suicide attacks targeted government vehicles in the area earlier this month.

No group has claimed responsibility yet for the attack, but the Taliban insurgent group routinely claims responsibility for such attacks.

The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since mid-April when the militant group launched a yearly rebel offensive against Afghan security forces. Endi
