Xinhua, May 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar's parliament has approved borrowing a loan of 400 million U.S. dollars from the World Bank for implementing some people-centered projects for rural people, official media reported Wednesday.

The people-centered projects cover compulsory services for livelihood of rural population and upgrading the capability of government staff and the early response system to natural disaster and emergency management.

The implementation of the projects will be carried out in selected townships, the report said.

In the fiscal year 2013-14, people-centered projects were implemented in townships of Chin and Shan states as well as Taninthayi Region, while in 2014-15, the projects were undertaken in Rakhine State and Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyawady Regions as well as in Nay Pyi Taw Council area.

Myanmar's 12th parliament session resumed on Monday after a month-long recess. Endi
