Indonesia blocks hundreds of thousands of porn sites

The Indonesian government has blocked hundreds and thousands of porn sites, a move in part aiming at protecting citizens from unhealthy way of life.

Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara said on Tuesday his ministry has blocked over 800,000 porn sites.

The minister said that the move has to be carried out persistently as scores of new porn site keep emerging after the blockade.

"So far, as many as 800,000 porn sites have been blocked," Rudiantara said at the Vice Presidential Office.

Haliq Sidiq, a senior official at the national commission of anti AIDS said that one of the dangers of rampant porn sites is the free sexual practice which may exacerbate the spread HIV/AIDS. Endi
