Tokyo shares open lower on weak U.S. market

Tokyo shares opened lower on Tuesday following losses in the overnight U.S. market.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 61.74 points, or 0.31 percent, from Monday to 19,559.17.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.48 point, or 0.03 percent, to 1, 597.85. Endi
