Malaysia suspends Airbus A400M operations after crash in Spain

Xinhua, May 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Malaysia has temporarily suspended the operations of its military Airbus A400M fleet after the recent fatal crash of one of the aircraft on a test flight in Spain, Malaysian Defense Minister Hishamuddin Hussein said on Monday.

Malaysia's state news agency Bernama quoted Hishamuddin as saying that the country has grounded their Airbus A400M fleet until more information are obtained.

An Airbus A400M military transport plane crashed outside Seville, Spain last Saturday, killing four crew members and injuring two others, which has prompted Malaysia, Germany, Britain and Turkey to ground their fleets of the aircraft.

It was reported that Malaysia has ordered four A400Ms, with the first aircraft already received on March 9 and two more expected to be received by the end of this year and the last one next year. Endi
