Singapore stocks close 0.54 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 18.79 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 3,470.80.

A total of 1.13 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 801.7 million Singapore dollars (600.9 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 221 to 179, while 554 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 19.23 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 3,452.01 on Friday. Endi
