S. Korea wins four recurve golds in Shanghai World Cup

Despite their defeat in recurve men's team final, South Korea took four out of five recurve gold medals at the 2015 Shanghai Archery World Cup here on Sunday.

As the favorite to be the champion, South Korean recurve men's team suffered as the wind flew strongly along the Huangpu River. The third set was their worst with 49 points. As Japan needed only four to win the match, Takaharu Furukawa shot an X.

Kang Chae Young beat Choi Misun 6-2 in the recurve women's final, and their national teammate Ki Bo Bae crushed Karina Winter of Germany 6-0 in the bronze medal match.

It was the third gold medal for Kang today, the other two were respectively from women's team final and the mixed team final with Kim Woojin.

Kim Woojin lost to Ku Bonchan 6-4 in the men's final, Ega Agatha Riau of Indonesia beat Lee Seungyun 7-3 to deny South Korea's endeavor to win all three medals.

China's only medal hope remained at the home World Cup was the recurve mixed team bronze match. Gu Xuesong and Zhu Jueman shot against Juan Rene Serrano and Aida Roman from Mexico. Both team tied after four sets. In the shoot-off, Mexico had two nines, China shot a seven and an useless 10. Endi
