At least three Palestinian farmers were moderately injured on Saturday afternoon by Israeli troops' gunfire east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, medics and witnesses said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman for Gaza health ministry, told reporters that three Palestinian farmers were injured; two moderately and one seriously, by Israeli troops' gunfire east of Khan Younis.
Witnesses live near the borderline between the Gaza Strip and Israel said that the Israeli soldiers stationed at the borderline area had suddenly opened fire at farmers working in their fields.
They added that three farmers were injured and were evacuated from the area by Palestinian ambulance to Nasser Hospital in the village of Abassan east of the city of Khan Younis.
On Friday, a Palestinian young man was critically wounded in by these border soldiers, according to medical sources and witnesses.
Israel established a 300-meter no-go zone on the borders between Gaza Strip and Israel and said it aims at preventing Palestinians from approaching the borders to infiltrate into Israel for attacks.
The soldiers stationed on the borders usually open fire at any Palestinian from the Gaza Strip who try to reach the area, mainly farmers who always complain that Israel harass them while working in their fields. Endit
