Chinese girls win opener at 4th world Go chess championship

Defending champion China, featuring Yu Zhiying, Song Ronghui and Rui Naiwei, tasted their 3-0 opening victory over Japan at the 4th World Women's Team Go Championship here on Friday.

China's Yu defeated her Japanese counterpart Fujisawa Rina at Table 1. Song and Rui also got their respective win.

"We get an easy win today. I'm satisfied with what our players have done," said Chinese team coach Wang Lei.

South Korea, title holder at the inaugural and second edition of this tournament, also saw a 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei.

China will clash with South Korea on Saturday in a round-robin format. Japan will meet Chinese Taipei. Endi
