Singapore stocks close 0.56 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 19. 23 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 3,452.01.

A total of 1.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 991 million Singapore dollars (745.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 236 to 200, while 518 others finished unchanged.
