1st LD: Labour's leader expected to quit -- BBC

Britain's Labour Party leader Ed Miliband is expected to step down after Labor's "disappointing" general election showing, the BBC reported Friday.

According to the results from individual constituencies that released at 0950 GMT, British Prime Minister David Cameron's Conservative Party has already secured 320 seats out of 635 seats, far ahead of Labour's 228 seats. Fifteen more seats are expected to be declared afterward.

The BBC forecasts that the Conservatives are hopefully to win 328 seats, enough to form a "slender majority" in the Commons.

Miliband is expected to address party staff and announce his quit, the BBC reported, citing two senior sources. Earlier, the party leader said it has been a "very disappointing and difficult night" for his party.
