Australian mourners farewell drug smuggler executed in Indonesia

More than 1,500 people filled a Sydney church on Friday for the funeral service of Andrew Chan who was executed by Indonesian authorities last week.

The co-ring leader of a heroin smuggling gang had spent 10 years in a Bali jail and had become a Christian pastor before being shot dead on April 29.

The 31 year old was bid farewell with songs and hymns.

Australia and Indonesia relations remain strained as Australia is opposed to the death penalty. Endi
