Xinhua, May 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Representatives of Eastern Africa nations attending a meeting over climate change in Djibouti, have agreed to establish a regional observatory on environment, a source said on Wednesday.

The regional observatory which will be based at Djibouti's Center for Studies and Scientific Research, will serve as a platform for sharing of views by Eastern Africa scientists.

It will also be charged with the responsibility of proposing solutions to climate change challenges in Africa, more particularly in Eastern Africa.

Being the first of its kind, this new outfit will be funded by Eastern Africa member states and the United Nations Environmental Program. Endi
