Male employees get paid 10 pct more than female in Albania

Male employees in Albania earned 10 percent more than female employees for an average monthly pay in 2014, data issued by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) showed.
Over the year 2014 in Albania the gross average monthly wage per employee was 45,539 lek (364 U.S. dollars), Albanian Daily News published on Sunday quoted the data as saying.
For an employee in public enterprises the gross average monthly wage is 54,981 lek. In public enterprises the gender pay gap is insignificant.
In foreign enterprises male employee earned more than two times that of female ones.
In 2014 the top five occupations with the highest gross average monthly wage are administrative and commercial managers; science and engineering professionals; production and specialized services managers; information and communications technology professionals; chief executives, senior officials and legislators.
People employed in the professions that require low-level skills earned lower: street and related sales and service workers; farmers, fishers, hunters and gatherers; food processing, wood working, garment and other craft and related trades workers; handicraft and printing workers. Endit
