Football, volleyball spearhead Olympic ticket demand

Xinhua, April 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Football and volleyball remain the most popular sports for Brazilians seeking tickets to the Rio 2016 Olympics, organizers said on Wednesday.

But demand is rising for traditional sports like athletics and swimming, according to figures released by the local organizing committee.

The five most sought-after sports, in order, are volleyball, football, swimming, basketball and athletics.

Brazilian residents have until April 30 to apply for tickets in the first of two draws. Only those who register for the first installment are eligible for the second.

Non-Brazilian residents are now able to contact authorized ticket resellers in their countries. Endi
