U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday pledged full support for relief effort in Nepal, as the Himalayan country is still reeling from a powerful earthquake and heavy casualties.

DAMASCUS -- Powerful blast at a weapon depot in eastern Syria killed at least 25 militants with the Islamic State (IS) militant group on Wednesday, a monitor group reported.

LUSAKA -- A Chinese company is expected to build two railway lines in Zambia, local media reported on Wednesday.
The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) said the company would sign agreements with the Zambian government this week for the plan to build the two lines in its eastern and northern region at a total cost of 2.7 billion U.S. dollars. (China-Africa)
