PSG complete permanent sign with Aurier

Xinhua, April 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Paris Saint-Germain have taken the option to turn Toulouse defender Serge Aurier's loan into a permanent sign, announced the French Ligue 1 champions on Wednesday.

"Paris Saint-Germain is happy to announce it has triggered the option to buy clause for Serge Aurier," read a press release by the club.

"The Cote d'Ivoire international has signed a contract with the Club until June 2019," it added.

Aurier has made 14 appearances in all competitions for PSG, including 12 in the top-flight local league, since arriving in July, helping them to Coupe de la Ligue success after the 2014 Trophee des Champions winning campaign last August in Beijing.

The 22-year-old, the best right back of Ligue 1 in 2013-2014 season and a member of the Cote d'Ivoire national team who played the 2014 World Cup and won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, has scored one goal and provided two assists this season for Laurent Blanc's side.

"I am enjoying magnificent season, both on an individual and team level," said Serge Aurier. "I am very proud that the Club is again showing its confidence in me."

"I will continue to progress to help the team reach the summits of the game, both in France and Europe," he added.

"Aurier is a young player with enormous potential. Like his young teammates, he represents the future of Paris Saint-Germain," commented PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi. "It was logical that we trigger the option to buy." Endite
