Real Madrid deny reports of possible FIFA sanction

Xinhua, April 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Real Madrid have denied reports that they face a FIFA sanction for irregularities in their youth system which would stop them signing any new players either this coming summer or for January 2016.

Radio Stations, Cadena Ser and Onda Cero both reported that Real and Atletico Madrid face this sanction, which is very similar to that which Barcelona are currently serving for a similar issue.

However, Real Madrid have published a communique on their website flatly denying they are under observation.

The website, www.realmadrid.com insists the information is: " completely false, as demonstrated by the fact that the Spanish Football Federation has spoken to different media outlets to refute the claims that Real Madrid is implicated in any kind of irregular activity when it comes to signing minors."

The club insists it has always followed the rules in signing young players and says the reports have been published to "cause harm .. the only aim of which are to implicate the club in supposed infractions that have not been committed."

Atletico Madrid have yet to make any comment on the issue. Endite
