China hopes to deepen cooperation with DPRK in public welfare: ambassador

Chinese Ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Li Jinjun on Wednesday called for deepening the bilateral win-win cooperation in public welfare to bring benefit the two peoples.
During talks with DPRK Minister of Public Health Kang Ha Guk, also chairman of the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association, Li spoke positively of the exchanges and cooperation between China and the DPRK in people-to-people areas, medical services and public health.
"Good terms between the two countries lie in amicability between the two peoples," the ambassador said.
He said that China stands ready to continuously strengthen people-to-people exchanges and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, broaden channels and explore new ways of bilateral cooperation in order to further boost the sound and steady development of the China-DPRK ties.
Li also disclosed China's plan for promoting bilateral cooperation in public welfare. He voiced the hope that China's dispatch of a medical team to the DPRK for cataract operations in 2015 could be well organized and implemented under close collaboration between the two sides.
Kang, for his part, appreciated China's cooperation willingness and plans. He said relevant DPRK government agencies will expand communication and cooperation with the Chinese side. Endi
