Chinese shares close higher Wednesday

Chinese shares ended higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up slightly by 0.01 percent, or 0.4 point, to finish at 4,476.62 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.12 percent, or 164.71 points, to close at 14,871.95 points.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, surged 4.08 percent, or 109.55 points, to end at 2,797.52 points. Endi
