Dubai child care scheme in Nepal unaffected by quake

Dubai Cares, a supporter of children's education in Nepal, said here Tuesday the supported programmes in the earthquake-hit Nepal have not been affected so far, state news agency WAM reported.

"We remain vigilant as the situation stabilises and continue to hope for encouraging news as the country and its people recover from this tragedy," Dubai Cares said in a statement.

Dubai Cares, launched as a global aid and relied scheme in 2007 by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, has been active in Nepal since 2009.

Dubai Cares has launched a school construction, teacher training and adult literacy program in Nepal, directly benefitting 2100 primary school age children in 14 schools. Endit
