LME base metals close lower mostly on Tuesday

The base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed lower on Tuesday on disappointing data from the United States.

U.S. consumer confidence declined in April following an increase in the previous month, a research group said Tuesday.

The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index registered 95.2 in April, down from 101.4 in March, the New York-based Conference Board said in a report.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 5.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.09 percent, to 6,102.5 dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price increased 23 dollars, or 1.25 percent, to 1,866 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price lost 6 dollars, or 0.29 percent, to 2,091 dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 8 dollars, or 0.35 percent, to 2,291 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 187.5 dollars, or 1.38 percent, to 13,412.5 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost 300 dollars, or 1.85 percent, to 15,875 dollars a tonne. Endit
