EU approves acquisition of Pepe Jeans by M1 Fashion, LVMH

Xinhua, April 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

The European Union (EU) approved the acquisition of joint control over Spain's Pepe Jeans by M1 Fashion Ltd. of the British Virgin Islands and LVMH of France under the EU merger regulation, said the European Commission (EC) on Monday.

Pepe Jeans sells luxury men's fashion under the UK Hackett brand and denim fashion under the Pepe Jeans brand.

M1 Fashion belongs to an investment group which owns, among others, the Faconnable brand. LVMH, controlled by Groupe Arnault, is a conglomerate active in the production and sale of luxury goods.

The EC concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns because the overlaps between the activities of Pepe Jeans, M1 Fashion, and LVHM were limited. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. Endit
