Two mild tremors shook Bangladesh on Sunday following a strong aftershock in Nepal one day after a deadly earthquake devastated the Himalayan country.
The tremors were felt in the capital of Dhaka and other parts of the country shortly after a 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on Sunday.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the first tremor jolted the country at about 1:12 p.m. local time (0712 GMT) for about 1 minute. The second tremor at about 1:26 p.m. local time (0726 GMT) lasted for about 20 seconds.
A BMD meteorologist said epicenter of the aftershock was also located in Nepal, some 612 km northwest of Dhaka.
Saturday's 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Nepal also shook Bangladesh, leaving at least four people dead and hundreds of others injured.
Some 200 people have also reportedly been injured as many with panic rushed out of their residences and offices for safety on Saturday. Endi
