China smashes Cuba 82-41 in women's basketball challenge

China had an easy 82-41 win over Cuba in the second stop of 2015 Sino-Cuba Women's International Basketball Challenge here on Friday.

Shaoting contributed in the first seven points of China respectively by an assist, a steal and a three-pointer. Cuba was not able to score in the first six minutes until Gonzalez hit one of the two free-throws. China finished the first quarter with 18-9.

Cuba finally hit the double-digit by two free-throws by Salazar with 3:25 left in the second quarter, China also suffered poor offense with the 26-11 lead. Then they extended the advantage to 21 points at the end of the second quarter, 37-16.

Sun Mengran scored six straight points after the halftime break before China finished the third quarter with a 30-point lead. Then they outscored Cuba in the last twelve minutes 21-10, winning the second stop of the Sino-Cuba International Challenge 82-41.

Li Meng had three three-pointers and game-high 17 points. Delgado topped Cuba team with 12 points.

Despite the win, there's still room for improvement for China in their coach's eyes.

The third match will be played on April 26 in Pinghu, China. Endi
