Olympiacos basketball squad wins ticket to Madrid for the Final Four

The Greek basketball club Olympiacos won the ticket to Madrid after defeating Barcelona 71-68 with an amazing three pointer at the buzzer in the playoffs held in Athens on Thursday night.

As Olympiacos was only one game away from Madrid and Barcelona wanted to take the series back to "Palau Blaugrana" stadium, the two basketball clubs entered the court fully enforced with passion at Peace and Friendship Stadium.

The first quarter ended with one point difference 16-17 among the two clubs, in the second Barcelona kept with the same pace the lead reaching the half time a 29-37 score.

Olympiacos came back to the court for the third period with strong defense and managed to counterpoise.

In the decisive fourth quarter, after nine leads and six ties the 2011 and 2012 Champions showed its strength and with the vital three pointer of Greek player George Printezis claimed its ticket to the Final Four.

Veteran point guard Vassilis Spanoulis led the Olympiacos attack with 17 points and 5 assists and Vangelis Mantzaris added 11 points.

Olympiacos who lead 3-1 in its best-of-five playoffs series, after losing the game 1 in Spain, heads to Madrid for the eighth time in its history to face CSKA Moscow. Endi
