China national television president appointed

A senior regulator for China's press and publication was appointed president of the national television, the State Council said Friday in a statement.

Nie Chenxi, deputy director of the State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, replaces Hu Zhanfan to lead the China Central Television.

The State Council also appointed Jiang Zelin, deputy governor of Shaanxi Province, as one vice secretary-general.

Zhang Yong, a former vice secretary-general of the State Council, was appointed vice director of the National Development and Reform Commission.

Bi Jingquan, another former vice secretary-general of the State Council, was appointed chief of the China Food and Drug Administration. Endi
