Germany's benchmark DAX index continues to decline

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday closed down by 1.21 percent at 11,723.58 points.

The correction at the stock exchange continued on Thursday and the blue-chip index went all the way down after a small increase during the trading. It lost 143.79 points.

Only two of the 30 DAX member shares managed to rise. Volkswagen AG Vz gained by 0.84 percent and BMW AG St climbed by 0.23 percent.

Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care company dropped by 2.41 percent. Linde AG, an industrial gas company, slipped by 2.4 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor producer, slid by 2.35 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG lost 2.28 percent and K+S Aktiengesellschaft, an international commodities company, plunged by 2.27 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.69 billion euros (around 5.04 billion U.S. dollars ). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 403.83 million euros. (1 euro = 1.07 U.S. dollars) Endit
