Singapore stocks close 0.19 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 6.51 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 3,502.75.

A total of 1.58 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 23 billion Singapore dollars (911.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 277 to 195, while 457 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 12.37 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 3, 496.24 on Wednesday. Endi
