French stock market index up 0.36 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.36 percent at 5,211.09 points on Wednesday, up 18.45 points.

Although the situation in Greece is still worrying investors, sound data from enterprises helped bring up the index. The CAC 40 closed only slightly higher on Wednesday with 20 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Wednesday's top three gainers were BNP Paribas, up 4.35 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, up 2.76 percent, and Credit Agricole, up 1.97 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Wednesday were Kering, down 3.88 percent, LVMH, down 1.98 percent, and Technip, down 1.51 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.10 percent at 5,192.64 points, up 5.05 points. Endit
