(Recast) Urgent: Xi urges rich countries to help developing world with no political strings attached

Xinhua, April 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday urged developed countries to fulfill their development aid commitments and increase support to developing nations with no political strings attached.

The South-North cooperation should be based on mutual respect and equality, Xi said at the Asian-African leaders' meeting held here, stressing that developed countries have a binding responsibility to help the developing world and bridge the gap between the South and the North.

Developed countries should increase support for developing countries and help enhance their self-development capacity, he said. Endi
