Germany's benchmark DAX index advances

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday advanced by 0.4 percent and closed at 11,939.58 points.

In April 2015, the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany has fallen for the first time since October 2014, the ZEW, or Center for European Economic Research announced on Tuesday. In addition, investors are still concerned about the Greek debt issue. Thus there was a mood of profit taking at the stock exchange, according to local analysts.

The company software company SAP SE climbed the most by 2.27 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor producer, rose by 1.57 percent. LANXESS AG, a specialty chemicals company went up by 1.45 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa AG added 1.35 percent and K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a standard fertilizer company, advanced by 1.25 percent.

Commerzbank AG dropped by 1.43 percent. Volkswagen AG Vz lost 1.21 percent. The two utilities company RWE AG St and E.ON SE each slipped by 1 percent and 0.96 percent. Deutsche Bank AG slid by 0.88 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.06 billion euros (around 4.37 billion U.S. dollars). Volkswagen AG Vz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 443.31 million euros (around 477.33 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
