Xinhua, April 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao on Tuesday praised Spain for the "entrepreneurial spirit" which he had seen in the country during his official visit to the country.

Addressing a Spain-China forum celebrating "10 years of strategic association" between the two nations, Wang said there was a need for deeper economic, cultural and commercial cooperation which would in turn strengthen cultural and educational exchanges.

Relations between Spain and China have continued improving, recently marked by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy visiting China and signing of several trade agreements in September 2014.

The Spain-China Forum was attended by personalities such as former Spanish Economy Minister Pedro Solbes and Spain's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo.

Garcia-Margallo said Spanish companies were making strides in China, and said Spain in recent years made strengthening bilateral relations with China a "maximum priority."

The 2015 edition of the Spain-China Forum, which was organized by the Board of the Spain-China Foundation, dealt issues such as bilateral investment, sustainable urban development, the management of cultural heritage and museums for tourism, women's rights and equal opportunities. Enditem
