AU approves deployment of long-term election observers in Ethiopia

The African Union (AU) has passed decision on deployment of long-term election observers mission to Ethiopia for the elections scheduled for May 24.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the AU Commission, has approved the deployment, said a statement from AU on Tuesday.

The team of 9 numbers, arrived in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa on Sunday and will be deployed to the various regions of Ethiopia after briefing, said the statement.

Together with 50 short-term observers, they will remain in Ethiopia until June 7, according to the statement. Endi
