Xinhua, April 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The audited balance sheet of state-controlled oil giant Petrobras to be released later this week will be a step forward in the company's recovery, Brazilian Finance Minister Joaquim Levy said on Monday.

According to the Federal Police investigators, Petrobras is under investigation for a major corruption scheme in which several of its directors reportedly took part.

Following the news that the company suffered major losses because of the corruption scheme, and the release of Petrobras' 2014 results was postponed and the report underwent an audit.

"We expect them to manage to publish the audited results, which will be very good," the minister said at a seminar in New York.

Levy reaffirmed his trust in Petrobras' recuperation, saying positive governance changes are taking place at the company. Endi
