Chinese legislator meets Czech parliamentary leader

Chinese top legislator Zhang Dejiang on Monday met with Jan Hamacek, president of the chamber of deputies of the Czech Republic.

Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the country's top legislature, hailed the rapid growth of China and Czech cooperation in all fields.

Zhang praised the role Czech Social Democratic Party has played in boosting friendship between the two countries.

Zhang briefed Hamacek, also deputy president of the Czech Social Democratic Party, on the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Europe partnership.

The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road will run through Asia, Europe and Africa, connecting East Asia with Europe.

China would like to work with the Czech republic to make best of new opportunities, increase exchanges between the Communist Party of China(CPC) and the Czech Social Democratic Party, cooperate with the Czech parliament, expand cooperation fields and consolidate political trust, Zhang said.

Hamacek underscored Czech's commitment to stronger ties with China, hailed China's proposal to promote cooperation with east and central Europe and pledged to expand party-to-party and parliamentary ties.

After Beijing, Hamacek will visit Shanghai and Zhejiang Province in east China. Endi
