HK issues travel alert on South Africa

Xinhua, April 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on Monday issued an Amber Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) on South Africa.

A government spokesman said Hong Kong residents intending to visit South Africa or are ready to go there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people.

The Hong Kong Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and OTA webpage.

Under the three-color OTA system, black is the highest alert, red the middle and amber the lowest. Endi
