1st LD: 6 students killed, 5 injured in road mishap in India

Xinhua, April 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least six school students were killed and five others injured in a road mishap in the eastern Indian state of Bihar on Monday, a senior police official said.

"The mishap happened when a school van in which the victims were traveling collided with an auto-rickshaw in the state's Siwan district, some 125 km from capital Patna this morning," the official said on condition of anonymity.

While six students died on the spot, some of those injured were in critical condition, the official said.

Local TV channels reported that the incident triggered violence in the district, after family members of the injured students did not find enough doctors at the hospital to treat the injured.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official added. Endi
