Iran vows not to hesitate to defend itself against military threats

Xinhua, April 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Iran will not hesitate to defend the country against the military threats posed by its enemies, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Sunday, according to Iran's Student News Agency.

Khamenei make the remarks with reference to the West's rhetoric of military options against the country if it fails to clinch a nuclear deal with powers.

"The Islamic republic has proved that it powerfully defends itself. All the nation comes together as a strong fist and resists the enemy," Khamenei was quoted as saying by the semi-official Iran's Student News Agency (ISNA).

"They have forged the narrative of nuclear weapons to say that Iran is a threat," he said, adding that "The threat is the United States which has put the security of the region in danger by its relentless interventions."

Today, the world witnesses the catastrophe in Yemen and the United States is supporting the oppressors, he said when addressing a group of visiting Iranian military commanders. Endit
