2 more Belgian media outlets attacked by cyber hackers

Xinhua, April 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Cyber hackers have once again targeted Belgian newspaper websites on Wednesday.

The websites of two daily newspapers, La Libre and Derniere Heure, were hit by an attack on Wednesday afternoon.

Both media outlets are owned by IPM media group.

A brief statement released on the La Libre Twitter account on Wednesday read: "New ongoing attack on lalibre.be. We are doing the maximum to reconnect quickly. Thank you for your understanding."

This comes just days after websites belonging to the Rossel media group, including the daily newspapers Le Soir and Sudpresse, were temporarily shut down by a cyber attack.

On Tuesday, the group Anonymous announced that it had unveiled the identity of the perpetrator of the week-end hack on Rossel media. The group Anonymous claimed that it was someone with links to the Islamic State. Endit
