Chinese president receives credentials of 9 new ambassadors

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday received the credentials of nine new ambassadors to China.

The ambassadors are Charles Enoch Namondwe from Malawi, Jean Pierre Mbazoa from Central Africa, Tau'aika 'Uta'atu from Tonga, Barbara Janet Woodward from the United Kingdom, Theerakun Niyom from Thailand, Dolana Msimang from South Africa, Shakhrat Nuryshev from Kazakhstan, Kim Jang-soo from the Republic of Korea and Brian Stuart-Young from Antigua and Barbuda.

Xi welcomed the new ambassadors to their posts and asked them to convey his sincere greetings to their leaders and people. He said China will continue boosting friendly and practical cooperation with the countries and work together to safeguard peace and promote global prosperity.

The Chinese government will provide facilities and support for the ambassadors, Xi said, encouraging them to contribute to bilateral ties and friendship between the people of China and their respective countries.

The ambassadors conveyed cordial greetings from their state leaders to Xi and lauded China's increasingly important role in international affairs.

They said China's development has provided great opportunities for the world and expressed support for the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st - Century Maritime Silk Road initiatives as well as the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The ambassadors pledged to promote friendship and cooperation between China and their respective countries during their tenure. Endi
