Canada's Jamal Murray scored 30 points, as the World Select Team defeated the USA 103-101 at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon, the third win for World Select Team over the past four years.
"It's been a phenomenal group, real character kids who are a lot of fun to coach, willing to make sacrifices for each other," said winning coach Roy Rana of Canada.
Chinese rising star Zhou Qi had two points, three rebounds and three blocks in 12 minutes for the World Select. "It is teamwork first for me. It does not matter how many minutes I played. As long as the team won, that's all that mattered to me," Zhou said.
"I appreciated the opportunity that Nike provided me. This is the highest level of basketball among players of my age in the world and I have learned a lot in the days I was at Nike Hoop Summit."
"I think he is a star. He is a very skilled athlete for a guy of his size," Coach Roy Rana said of Zhou. "He fought through an ankle injury which meant he could not practise with us a lot. He sat out three days and only really practised properly yesterday (Friday) but he made such an impact when he came in today despite all that. I was just glad that today he was playing on my team instead of against me." Endi
